It is always a good day when a new zombie movie comes out.  Well Friday was one of those good days.  28 Days Later was a very good film, it did quite a bit for the zombie genre as a whole.  It worked to rejuvenate the genre as a whole, since it was released we have seen more and more zombie movies coming out.  I’m not sure I really like the idea of the fast zombies, but hey I’ll live as long as there are more zombie movies out there.

 

Now I certainly didn’t like 28 Weeks Later as much as I liked 28 Days Later.  There was just that special something to the movie lacking.  Days had a special look to it, an almost intangible something that made it just more pleasing in its imperfection.  Days also had a much better story, chocked full of good survival based suspensey goodness.  You became invested in the characters, and were pulling for them.  In Weeks I didn’t have that feeling, the characters just were not the same.

 

Now I know I have just said mostly negative things, but all in all I still enjoyed 28 Weeks Later.  Its one of those movies that I really need to see again and I’ll probably end up liking it more the second time.  It had some very good violence and well of course it had the zombies both you and I crave.
